Weekly Wrap-Up and Safety Drill Notification

Posted Date: 10/24/25 (4:17 PM)

Positive Astros,

This coming week, we are excited to recognize Red Ribbon Week, the nation's oldest and largest drug prevention program. The purpose of Red Ribbon Week is to raise awareness about the dangers of drug abuse and to encourage students to make healthy, drug-free choices. It's a time to celebrate a commitment to a healthy, drug-free lifestyle.

This year's national theme is: "Life's a Puzzle, Solve it Drug-Free."
To kick off our week, we invite all students to show their support by wearing red this Monday, October 27th. Please note that the shirt doesn't have to have a collar.

Important Safety Note

Today, we successfully conducted an Active Threat Drill. Our staff and students were amazing, following directions and demonstrating safety procedures with discipline and calm. We are incredibly proud of how seriously everyone takes these critical drills.

Looking Ahead: Cancer Awareness & Fall Events

On Thursday, October 30th, we invite students to wear pink as we recognize and celebrate Cancer Awareness.
Also on Thursday, October 30th, please join us for our annual Fall Festival from 5:00–7:00 PM! This is a wonderful family event that will include activities, candy, free books, a costume parade, and more.

On Friday, October 31st, students are invited to wear fall attire (no costumes) as we host our school's Fall Ball! Students will attend during the following times:
  • PreK: Breakfast first, then music and dancing: 9:05 AM
  • K, 3rd, 4th, 5th grades: 9:30–10:15 AM
  • Kinder, 1st, 2nd grades: 2:30–3:10 PM
We look forward to a week of learning, supporting great causes, and celebrating the season together!
